Context
MVRDV wins work through international tenders and pitches, and its website is the portfolio it submits. Its work lived in separate places: the public site, the staff intranet, the pressroom and the project archive, each with its own content and its own search.
What I did
At Boerdam, now Foster, I worked on it from 2015: art direction, UI/UX and front end for the website, the CMS, the intranet and the digital archive, including their responsive redesigns. Later, as a freelancer, I worked on the website relaunch around the turn of 2018–19 and on the intranet’s channels, comments and search in 2019.
Outcome
One connected platform across website, intranet, pressroom and archive. According to Foster’s case page, about 500 projects are searchable through Elasticsearch, images scale automatically for the website, app and pressroom, and the site is built to load fast on every continent, so the architecture carries the page.
